Sorry this is sold!
I have a pretty nice Corona up for sale as I don't need 2 of them and I keep coming across decent deals to rehab and sell to someone who wants the best RC heli trainer in the world!. This one was assembled as if I were going to keep it.
The frame is cut from ply as I really hate the flimsy flexy AL frame. My normal mods are included the nose is about 3/8" longer to protect Lipo packs while they balance. There is a lift on the tail strut mount to get the tail rotor out of the grass. Best of all is the .125" G10 motor mount, which won't compress when you tighten the motor. With the stock mount the first tightening makes a divot and all subsequent adjustments tend to fall in the same spot. The keel is CF reinforced. This is a sturdy, light, and stiff woody! Sitting on a brand new set of Voyager E landing gear with a 3/32" thick G10 rudder protecting the tail.
The electronics are Hextronic 36A brushless ESC (with USB programming key), separate 3A Hobbywing ubec (the shielded one), Gws 6 chan Rx, 3000kv brushless motor, 3 EA JR NES-341 servos. MS-44 Heading Hold Gyro with remote gain. It all runs solid and no glitches (they aren't allowed).
The head comes complete with CF reinforced feathering plate. ALL the gears are new, HUH? Yep all of them NEW main, front TR drive, EVERY ONE from motor drive pinion to the TR output shaft = new. Weel OK you got me the servo gears aren't new, but are working fine.
In the pic you can see where there had been a boom strike and the boom has been straightened. It's functionally as good as new. The heli will have a boom protector to avoid a reoccurrence. Pretty much hide the marks too.
This plot will show you what you need to know. I was wailing on it pretty hard. It'll work great with 8 can cells or 3S lipo. Weight isn't a serious factor but I prefer 3s lipo. Note the temp probe was just hanging.
There is no canopy included but the BPE canopy works fine or the Corona canopy is inexpensive too.
